Seeing the Country

I'm rather excited about the upcoming months with The Garland Group and Banktastic. I'm being sent to several different events, some of which include places I've never seen.

I'll be heading to Fishers, IN, on October 1 & 2 for Partnership Symposium. This two-day even will include discussions and idea sharing to help those in credit unions learn how to make their institution more relevant to current and future members. I'm really excited to get to be in the presence of so many people that work to make big changes in the financial industry. People like Tim McAlpine of Currency Marketing and Gene Blishen of Mount Lehman Credit Union are both people I really look up to, so I'm looking forward to sitting in on their presentations.

Then, a few weeks after Partnership Symposium is over, I get to head up to Manhattan to cover Finovate 2008 on October 14. Finovate will showcase 20 financial technology leaders and their latest innovations. I helped organize Brad's coverage of Finovate Startup 2008, but I get to cover this one in person! I'm not only psyched about being a part of this event, but also getting the chance to finally go to New York. I've never been, and it's been a life-long dream to go.

October is going to be a big month for me, and I'm ready to go. Look for video coverage on these events on Banktastic and its blog.
